Sylvain Lemêtre stands before a table full of unprecedented percussions, designed to present an intimate performance, a sincere portrait and reflection on his art as a percussionist, freed from any musical territoriality. Be the music oral or written, organized or improvised, archaic, outrageous or foreign, it remains a question of sound and how to share it. His music stems from this acknowledgment, rendered by the means of loud “booms” and “taks”. “La Funghimiracolette” is the first book by composer and guitarist Olivier Mellano. It is a collection of machines, action, and sonorous situations ranging from Raymond Roussel to Fluxus, to Baroque novels. It is a profound, fun and poetic collection of sonorous stories, imaginary instrument descriptions and musical action scripts: gestures, fiction and verbal scores are to be read in or out of order (several reading paths are proposed by the author).
